ICYMI: Reentry Campus Program Alum & Pathway Coordinator Featured On RI PBS

Updated: Oct 18, 2023

This winter Reentry Campus Program graduate and now Pathways Coordinator Keith Nunes was featured on Generation Rising a show on Rhode Island PBS.

The messages are as relevant as ever as our students enter into a new school year. We pulled a few quotes that stood out for us, but watch the whole interview to hear it from Keith himself.

On what FREEDOM, the acronym we use to describe our process and principles means to him

"Freedom is when you're free to educate yourself. When you're free to be aware of what's going on around you in the world, when you're financially secure, you have a certain amount of freedom with that.

I feel incredibly blessed. But I think I'll feel completely free when I finish my degree when I have some level of financial security, and then I can have more time to pursue some of the things in my mind and heart."

On what education has done for him

"I firmly believe from my personal experience that education is incredibly powerful.

Education is one of the best tools that you could have to better your life and to better your life in every way. To help you earn a decent living and better your life financially, mentally, spiritually, and socially.

I can't tell you the amount of people that I've been meeting since I've been home in the college environment and in the nonprofit environment. It's incredible.

You just better yourself in every way with education–I truly believe that. It's definitely been an improvement and a major reason why my life is improving.

So, anybody that would hear that message, I encourage them to educate themselves to come on down so we can help you in any way we can.”
